An introduction of sorts (Q&A)

Wow. All this time has passed since I opened this website and I didn't really introduce myself! I apologize!

So I thought I would do a little Question and Answer for everyone:

1. WHO ARE YOU?

My name is Lindsey Cormier, I live in New Hampshire, USA. I'm 39 years old and I'm a painter, illustrator and musician.

2. How long have you been painting and writing music?

Painting:20 years. Musician: 20 years. I've been drawing my whole .life though.

3. Who are your inspirations?

Amy Brown, Brian Froud, Jasmine Becket Griffith, Sanrio (Hello Kitty), Lisa Frank, Stephen King, Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, Orbital, The Cure (Can you tell I was a goth in High School, LOL)

4. What materials do you use?

PAINT: For watercolor I use an old set by Royal Talens, I got it for $24.99 at Michaels. Sometimes I use Daniel Smith.

For acrylics I use Liquitex Heavy Body, Golden Fluid and whatever pretty multicolor set I can find on Amazon for less than $25. BRUSHES: I like synthetic hair cause they just work better with water, which I use a lot of when I paint. Oh, how I love water! PAPER: Arches is my favorite. CANVAS: Whatever is on sale, as long as it's back-stapled. DIGITAL: I love Photoshop and I'm learning Affinity Designer.

5. What happened to you, do you still sell on eBay?

Well, this somewhat major thing happened to me called Mental Illness. This has made it extremely difficult to paint because I hear a lot of voices. I AM still painting sporadically however and I post my little ACEO miniatures on eBay. I do have some bigger paintings in the works and I will post those on either eBay or possibly Etsy.

6. Will you do any more Abstract paintings?

Maybe. Right now I'm painting cats and fairies...maybe some dragons or mermaids or GNOMES!

7.How much water do you add to your acrylics?

about 4-6 drops (just using a small brush) for opaque layers and 10-15 drops for glazes.

8. Have you ever tried Golden Acrylic Glazing Liquid?

It's fun but kind of sticky...maybe as the months get colder I can use it.

9. I saw someone selling your paintings as their's. Is this you?

No, that person is not me. Recently I found out someone stole my work and wrote things on it with insults and racial slurs. They sold it as an original painting (even though it was a counterfeit print.) The official Lindsey Cormier website is www.lindseycormier.com and my current eBay ID is artbylindsey83.

OK, that's all for now! Any questions? Email me at lindseycormier@
